Our ‘Best Of 2011’ series continues with the Australian based producer and DJ, Bosstone. Back in October, Bosstone blessed us with our twentieth guestmix, expertly crossing the boundaries of hip-hop, house and bass music with everything from Kanye West to Sinjin Hawke. This is something that hits home about Bosstone, his musical education. In his mixtapes, he simply knows what works, and exactly what should come next. Dropping The-Dream’s ‘Falsetto’ in AO-AO Guestmix 020 was a personal highlight. If you haven’t already, you should also check his mixtape for Jamie What Presents in which he kicks off with Drake’s ‘The Real Her’ and then steps up onto some next Jersey level, so special. Production wise, Bosstone has really embraced the power of the internet and social media, frequently dropping remixes and bootlegs to great support. For me, when he ‘bootlegs’ a track, he just seems to give it that extra kick, or extra ingredient to really top it off, For example, his ‘Thinking About You‘ and ‘Club Paradise‘ edits. As we said a few months back, Bosstone really captures the essence of AO-AO, really embracing every style of music and bringing it all together so it was a pleasure for him to send us his top tracks of this past year. Check them below. This guy is just a badman, he’ll kill 2012.
