Since seeing the video and hearing his track “Ferrari Love” featuring Murs, we have been waiting patiently for our masked homie Issue to drop his “Waves Of Italy” mixtape. The wait has certainly been worth it, as the Bay Area producer has come forth with an outstanding tape that shows just how much his style has been refined in such a short period of time.

With his music having been compared in the past to that of his fellow San Franciscan Lil B (and his based/rare mantra), “Waves Of Italy” sees Issue continuing his borderline dadaist lyrical style as he goes in over easy going/etheral beats, with elements of the tape taking influence from “Chop and Screwed” techniques and evoking memories of Houston and the South, if you were to swap the lean with “Viper Tea“.
Released through his own Teaholics Records outlet, the tape features productions from Issue’s fellow Teaholic Avispado as well Ryan Hemsworth, Soufien3000, Supreme Cuts and a beat from Issue’s older brother Droop-E, who comes with “Teaholics (The Rise)” which also features verses from Das Racist.

Our brother out of the Bay has been making substantial power moves recently and this tape is an essential download. Therefore it goes without saying you should keep a close eye on him for the future.
